Up here on Exmoor many of the ancient beech hedges have fallen into disrepair and yet in doing so they have become an art form in their own right!

I have become attracted to the silouette of these old beech tree’s with some being contorted into weird mythical animals and orc’s right out of Lord of the Rings …. Whatever you want to see it can be found in these gnarled old hedges.

This particular image comes as one of my unique “Shabby Chic” range of pictures.

Each images is unique as it has its own one off picture frame … the image is on photographic paper with a pale mount and then framed in a variety of styles using “Shabby Chic” style wooden frames and Pilkington’s “Galleria” low reflective glass.
